Using A APC UPS With Linux

A UPS is a great way to protect your system from power outages. Below is a guide to set a managed UPS with Linux.
Install The Software
Modify Required APCUPSD File
Change the file so that the line ""ISCONFIGURED=NO"" now reads ""ISCONFIGURED=YES""
Connect the UPS
You can check to see if it was picked up properly by viewing the log files.
Change APCUPSD Configuration File
Modify the following entries to reflect the following:
Test The UPS Connection
Restart The UPS Daemon
View Current Status Of UPS
View Log Of UPS Events
