IPROUTE Configure Network Via Console
Veteran users will remember ifconfig however this is slowly but surely being replaced with the iproute command. Below is some basic examples on how to configure your network configuration via iproute.
Bring Up And Down eth0
Auto Config Using DHCP
Set A Ip Address
Below we set the IP to 10.1.1.10 and the netmask 255.255.255.0
Determine IP Address Information For An Interface
Use any of the following to list the information and configuration for an interface
Set Default Gateway
Display Routing Table
Addng A Route
Delete A Route
Find The Route To A IP Address
Replace IPADDRESS with the numbered ip address of the destination machine.
