Raspberry Pi Project

This guide is for raspbian versions jessie or later... if you are using a version
of raspbian earlier than jessie see my other guide here
You can listen to audio from the PI but in order to record you need to use a sound card
as the pi only has audio out. I used a USB plantronics as my sound card, and the following
is a guide to have it set up and made your main sound card
Edit your local soundrc file
Insert into this new file the following
Do the same for /etc/asound.conf
Reboot
When you run the command "amixer" it should show your new usb sound card as default and allow
you to record from the mic input....lets test this
And now play it back
You should now hear what the mic recorded...if you need to change the levels of the mic or
speaker use "alsamixer" to edit them.. then store those settings via
