Installing a N-Type coax connector
First thing unpack the connector, you will find almost everything below included in it (obviously if you have a male conenctor the female wouldnt be there and vice versa). Look at the image below the list to get an idea of what each component is.
A -- Nut
B -- Washer
C -- Gasket
D -- Clamp
E -- Male Contact
F -- Plug Body
G -- Female Contact
H -- Jack Body
Use the following chart to help with your measurements for the diagrams below

Place nut and gasket with V groove toward clamp, over cable and cut off jacket to length A from above chart
Comb out briad and fold out. Cut off cable dielectric to dimension C as above in chart
Pull braid wires forward and taper toward center conductor. Place clamp over braid and push back against cable jacket
Fold back braid wires as shown on left, trim braid to proper length and form over clamp as shown. Solder contact to center conductor.
Finally insert cable and parts into the connector body, making sure sharp edge of clamp seats properly in gasket, then tighten the nut.
A bit more difficult connector to install than say a PL-259 but its much better and when properly done its weather proof as well.
